So our puppets have made it around the world. We have customers in Australia, Scotland, Italy, California, North Carolina, Texas, many more states and all over Canada.
It is really exciting to interact with so many people from so many different cultures. Puppets is really a universal thing. It’s also not confined by age or gender. We sell puppets to adults to annoy their husbands or wives, in memory of someone who has passed, to create YouTube videos, to perform stage or ventriloquism puppetry. There are so many reasons for someone to want a puppet. We even have some people that just like to collect them and have them on display in their home. So when people say they are too old for puppets...I have to disagree

Our little home in steinbach,mb.
We live in a mobile home and just down the street is the factory that I work full time at. My husband is at home full time with our baby kitty, max, and doing animations. We love our life and I am happy with where the puppet business has gone. I love what I do and I dream about it at work all day. I love that my husband can stay safe at home and I am close enough to come home for lunch and see him everyday. I have no complaints. Our life is perfect and I wish I could freeze time. So this has been an interesting year for everyone. We thought at first that our puppet business was going to slow down because we couldn’t do craft sales or have people come over for classes. But the world has surprised us by being so supportive of small businesses that our online presence picked up. We have been so grateful to be. Able to continue spreading joy around the world...and to be able to pay our bills of course.
Thank you to everyone that supports us in what we do. We are truly grateful for all of you. my husband now stays home full time and does animations and helping build the puppets.
I work full time as a manufacturing operator and full time puppets it seems🤪 We both love we do and would love if I were able to create full time out of puppets. We feel we are getting closer. Our first year we sold about 100 puppets and our 2nd year we sold close to 300! So this year I am aiming for 500🤪 This is definitely my passion. I get up early every morning and work on puppets before going to my other job. I get home at 4 and spend another couple hours working on my dream. I love what I do and I wish I could encourage others to find what they are passionate about as well. our dream for north stream creations is to help others find what they are passionate about and for us to continue living out our passions as well.
My husband and I wanted to get away from working for big corporations and do something we were passionate about. I encouraged my husband to quit the job he was at for 14 years and find out what it is he loves to do. He has so many talents but couldn't narrow it down at first. He tried writing, drawing, teaching guitar lessons, and making comic strips. Then, he discovered a new passion that combined all his gifts! Animations. He could do voice work, storytelling, drawing, writing, music, and make a cartoon for people to watch. Around this time, he encouraged me to start something that I had been interested in a long time ago but never had the proper encouragement to do it good. Puppets! I love building and performing puppets but I was never very good at it. I started watching tutorials online by Adam kreutinger and a few other people. I started building them and everyday trying to improve from the next. A year later and I have not been able to quit my full time big corporation job yet. But, I started discussing puppets and different ways of performing and making a living from it with people from Australia, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, New York, and Los Angeles.
I am now starting to look into a full time venture from something that started out as a hobby. My husband spent this last year working on animations and he had one guitar student as well as working part time just to supplement our income. This coming fall he is starting teaching guitar and doing animation lessons for those who want to learn and slowly say good bye to the part time job and make north stream creations his full time venture. |
